On 8 October 2024, at about 1530hrs, Jaik Patidar (ACCHKG1) released a statement depicted above indicating his intentions to step down as the current Hong Kong vACC Director. His relentless support given to Hong Kong vACC as well as his contribution to the Division is remarkable and lets congratulate him on this milestone as he step into his future endeavors.

It is with a mixture of emotions that we announce the departure of Jaik Patidar, who has served as the Director of the Hong Kong vACC since 2021. Jaik has been an integral part of the vACC’s growth and development, steering the vACC through one of the most challenging periods in recent history.
Jaik’s journey with the Hong Kong vACC began in 2020 when he joined as a passionate controller. Amid the pandemic, Jaik found a place within our community and quickly became involved in operations. His dedication led to his appointment as Director in 2021, a time when the vACC faced significant challenges. Though Jaik humbly admits he wasn’t the most experienced, his mission to get the vACC back on track and inspire a new generation of controllers was clear from the very beginning.
Through tireless work, Jaik led a period of reshaping the vACC. He gathered a new team, navigated several leadership changes, and ultimately inspired a new generation of VATSIM members to join and contribute. This revitalization, fueled by Jaik’s perseverance, brought us to where we are today: a dynamic and passionate vACC, powered by hardworking staff, mentors, controllers, and pilots.
Jaik shared how proud he is of the team that emerged under his leadership, noting how they’ve taken almost complete operational autonomy. The Hong Kong vACC is in a better place thanks to the efforts of Jaik and his team, and his contribution over the last three years will not be forgotten.
After three and a half years of service, Jaik has decided it’s time to step down and pass the torch to new leadership. He believes that the vACC is now in the capable hands of a group that continues to push forward with the same passion and dedication that he has championed.
We would like to thank Jaik for everything he has done for the vACC. His leadership and commitment have had a lasting impact on the entire community, and his presence will be missed.
